Mt. Woodson Castle Wedding with Tim & Lisa
Mt. Woodson Castle is one of those San Diego wedding venues that have it all. Easy parking for the guests, accommodations for bride and groom to get ready with their friends, several choices of ceremony location (My favorites are the lower lawn and in front of the castle), and several options for portraits. This venue is in Ramona, a secluded place in San Diego County. So, I’m always excited to be a photographer for an Mt. Woodson wedding.
When I met with Lisa and Tim, I knew I was a good fit for their wedding. We talked about travel and photography for a while. They were adventurous, outdoorsy, and excited about their upcoming Mt. Woodson castle wedding.
We met again for their Balboa Park engagement session. We walked around the park for a bit and moved to their neighborhood, Ocean Beach. They grabbed their dog for some photos, and we went for a beer at a famous San Diego dog-friendly brewery. There was still time to watch the sunset at the famous San Diego Sunset Cliffs.
I arrived early in Ramona at Mt. Woodson Castle on the wedding day to get some getting-ready photos. We set a beautiful first look in front of the castle, and they were happy to see each other for the first time on their wedding day. They were both looking incredibly sharp for the big moment.
They had the wedding ceremony on Mt. Woodson's Castle's lower lawn. It’s one of my all-time favorite backgrounds for afternoon weddings. The light comes from behind and is filtered by the trees, bringing the perfect conditions for wedding photography. I knew this Mt. Woodson Castle ceremony would yield some epic photography.
After a few portraits bride and groom joined their guests on the upper lawn, where they had some drinks and laughed with their loved ones.
Once the cocktail hour was over, the wedding moved inside Mt. Woodson Castle, where the guests danced, cut the cake with the bride and groom, drank, and had a great party.
It was the end of another great Mt. Woodson Castle in Ramona, and I was happy to do the photography and meet another great couple from San Diego.
